Closure
MULTIPLE CLOSURES:
- Lane closure along State Route (SR) 99 northbound off-ramp;
- Intermittent lane closures along McKinley Avenue, between Hughes and Channing avenues;
- Intermittent shoulder and sidewalk closures along McKinley Avenue between Hughes and West Avenues;
- Lane and shoulder closures along West Avenue, between University and Weber avenues;
- Lane closure along Golden State Boulevard off-ramp to McKinley Avenue;
- Intermittent lane closures along Weber Avenue between McKinley and West avenues.
Work is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Wednesday, Jan. 3 through Monday, Feb. 12, 2024.
Detour
EASTBOUND MCKINLEY AVENUE TRUCK DETOUR:
- Truck traffic going north on Golden State Boulevard to eastbound McKinley Avenue will be detoured west on McKinley Avenue, north on Marks Avenue, west on Clinton Avenue, south on West Avenue then back onto McKinley Avenue.
Signage and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic.
Access will be maintained to all businesses and property owners. Pedestrian access will be restricted.
Description
Kings County, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces multiple nighttime closures along McKinley Avenue, West Avenue, and Golden State Boulevard in Fresno for utility work. Work is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Wednesday, Jan. 3 through Monday, Feb. 12, 2024.
This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.
All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
